Mission Statement
Every child has the right to play and be in charge of their learning. At Blue Ridge Outdoor school, kids are given opportunities for uninterrupted play, discovery of the natural world, and time to explore their interests while working on their social skills with their peers and teachers.

What is an outdoor school?
An outdoor school is an entirely outdoor learning experience, all-weather program for children. It's a safe place for children to play, eat, dance, climb, paint, rest, write, build, and learn all through extended time in nature. Inspired by the Scandinavian model established in the 1950s, the outdoor school focuses on whole-child development; socio-emotional, cognitive, and physical development are all equally important.
